Malaysian AIDS Foundation Gala Dinner
A GALA DINNER will be held at the Renaissance Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, to coincide with the 2nd International CSR Conference in August 2009. Guests will enjoy a five-star dinner and drinks, with a star-studded evening's entertainment provided by the Malaysian jazz singer, Atilia Haron and other local celebrities.

All profits from this event will be donated to the Malaysian AIDS Foundation to support programmes and initiatives on HIV/AIDS awareness, prevention and treatment.

Highlights of the 1st International CSR Conference 2008 - 'Where Responsibility Meets Bottomline' Print E-mail

Held from 29–31 July 2008 at the Hilton Hotel Kuala Lumpur, this was the first truly international CSR Conference in Malaysia. Jointly organised by OWW Consulting, RUSS Consulting and the EU-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce (EUMCCI), it brought together international investors, international stakeholders and members of the Malaysian corporate world to discuss Environmental, Social and Governance issues.

PROMOTING INVESTMENT in MALAYSIA through CSR BUSINESS MATCHING For the first time in Malaysia, local Company Representatives and Fund Managers met on a personalised, one-to-one basis with international Socially Responsible Investment (SRI) Firms representing around RM2.6 trillion (€520 billion). These include European fund managers Hermes (UK), F&C Investments (UK) and Mn-Services (Netherlands) as well as Asia-Pacific investors from New Zealand Superannuation Fund, the Asian Development Bank (Philippines) and Mitsubushi UFJ Group (Japan).

AWARD-WINNING NGOS and COMMUNITY GROUPS from EUROPE and MALAYSIA Co-laureate of the 1997 Nobel Peace Prize, the Mines Advisory Group (MAG) from the United Kingdom featured as a keynote speaker at the Conference. MAG was awarded the Prize for its work with the International Campaign to Ban Landmines (ICBL), which culminated in the 1997 Mine Ban Treaty - the international agreement that bans anti-personnel landmines, sometimes referred to as the Ottawa Convention.
