David heads the Corporate Governance, Investor Relations and Financial Communications practice at Columbus Circle. He has over thirty years experience in financial services and five years in the commercial sector. He has worked in the UK, Malaysia, Kenya and Indonesia.Prior to his appointment to the executive board of the Columbus Circle Group, he was the Chief Executive of Cahya Mata Sarawak (CMS). While at CMS, David was actively involved in establishing various risk management and internal control processes for this diversified group, and in the institution of crisis mitigation procedures. David has held senior positions with Standard Chartered Merchant Bank in London, Kuala Lumpur and Nairobi, Bankers Trust in London, International Marine Banking Corporation in London, and American Express Bank in Edinburgh. From 1998 to 2001, David was the Managing Director of Affin Fund Management Sdn Bhd. His commercial experience has been with Metal Box and CMS. David blends his unique combination of skills in merchant banking, investment management and corporate affairs to provide practical governance and investor relations advice to our clients. He is well-versed in corporate governance issues across the region and has been a leader in the development of the Investor Relations (IR) profession in Malaysia. David provides high level training to the Boards and executive management of clients on governance, IR and related topics and advises and assists clients with corporate governance practice, their IR programmes and financial communications. He is a Director of the Malaysian Institute of Corporate Governance (MICG) and the Malaysian Investor Relations Association (MIRA). He is also an independent non-executive Director of Boustead Heavy Industries Corporation Berhad. Outside his own area of expertise, David provides support to Columbus Circle in its internal audit and risk management practices, using his practical experience as a former investment manager and as an independent Director. His clients include Bursa Malaysia, Sime Darby, the Affin Group, Texchem Resources, UEM World, Opus International plc, MICG and MIRA. |
