A GALA DINNER will be held at the Renaissance Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, to coincide with the 2nd International CSR Conference in August 2009. Guests will enjoy a five-star dinner and drinks, with a star-studded evening's entertainment provided by the Malaysian jazz singer, Atilia Haron and other local celebrities.
All profits from this event will be donated to the Malaysian AIDS Foundation to support programmes and initiatives on HIV/AIDS awareness, prevention and treatment. |

Pn Fadilah is Director General of the Department of Standards Malaysia (Standards Malaysia) where she is responsible for the functions of the department which relate to national and international standardization and accreditation activities. She led the Malaysian delegation to the ISO technical meetings on Social Responsibility in 2005 and 2006 and is a leading player in the ISO26000 process for Malaysia..She has has held her current position since October 2006 and has more than 21 years of experience of service in the public sector in total. From 2005 until early 2007, she was the lead negotiator for Malaysia-US Free Trade Agreement in the area of standards, technical regulations and conformity assessment procedures (ie technical barriers to trade). From June 2000 to September 2006 (6 years) she was Director of Standards, Department of Standards Malaysia. At the national level, she was aggressive in promoting the use of Malaysian Standards to various Federal Government agencies, industry associations, professional bodies and universities. She initiated. and still maintains, effective collaborations with NGOs including FOMCA, Malaysian Association of Standards Users, Persatuan Pengguna Islam Malaysia, Dewan Perniagaan Islam Malaysia, and many more. However, from 1 November 2001 to 31st December 2002 (1 year), she was assigned as the Director of Accreditation in DSM before going back to Standards Division again. During that 1 year period, she succeeded into getting Malaysia to be signatory member to the international forum of Asia Pacific Laboratory Accreditation Mutual Recognition Arrangement (APLAC MRA). This has led to all companies receiving accreditation from DSM being automatically recognized by many other countries who are also signatory to APLAC MRA. From 1993 to 1999 (7 years) she was Head of the Science &Technology Indicators Unit, in the Malaysian Science and Technology Information Centre (MASTIC) under Ministry of Science , Technology & the Environment. She began her working career as a Science Officer at the Atomic Energy Licensing Board (AELB) in the formulation of regulations for nuclear safety in Malaysia between 1985-1992. Pn Fadilah holds a B.Sc in Health and Environmental Physics from University of Salford, United Kingdom. |
