Malaysian AIDS Foundation Gala Dinner

A GALA DINNER will be held at the Renaissance Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, to coincide with the 2nd International CSR Conference in August 2009. Guests will enjoy a five-star dinner and drinks, with a star-studded evening's entertainment provided by the Malaysian jazz singer, Atilia Haron and other local celebrities.

All profits from this event will be donated to the Malaysian AIDS Foundation to support programmes and initiatives on HIV/AIDS awareness, prevention and treatment.

Julian Hyde – General Manager, Reef Check Malaysia (Global NGO)

Julian is British, but has been living overseas since 1992. He is a scientist by training, with a degree in biochemistry. He worked for several years as a management consultant before being posted to Russia in 1993 to manage a large scale training programme for Russian energy efficiency engineers. In 1996, he set up his own consulting company in Russia and continued to manage large scale technical assistance programmes.

In 1998 he moved to Malaysia to run the Malaysia and Singapore offices of a UK-based environmental consulting company. In 2000, he moved to Tioman island to pursue his dream of running his own dive centre, which he still does. In 2006, he was a member of a team which established Reef Check Malaysia, a global NGO involved in coral reef conservation. He is now the general manager of Reef Check Malaysia.
